Got a Life Group?

Being connected with other believers in meaningful relationships is a critical part of growing as a disciple of Jesus Christ. God intends for us to live out our faith in Him with others. Here at FBJB, Life Groups are our primary method to connect believers for growth.

What is a Life Group?

A Life Group is 8-15 people who meet together weekly. Each group is unique but they are all intentional about these four things; Love, Learn, Reach and Serve.

Love.  Love is expressed in a variety of ways in group life. First, we express love to God through prayer and worship and by giving Him praise. We express love to one another as we serve one another and care for one another in our group. John 13:34-35 tells us “A new command I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” It is Christian love that makes our groups so distinctive.

Learn. Jesus said in Matthew 11:29: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you’ll find rest for your souls.” Learning about Christ and about His will for our lives is a key component of group life. All groups learn-they learn the Bible, they learn about one another, and they learn about themselves.

Serve. James says: "Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Service and good works are part of any vibrant, healthy small group. Each group must decide how it will express Christian love to the community or to others in the church.

Reach. The truth that God reaches toward us is the heart of the Gospel. As Christ followers, we too must reach. That means reaching others with the gospel of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20) and reaching believers for meaningful relationships.
